What data is processed?
The following data is processed by third party AIs to generate responses when using Squid Chat:
- User content: your inputs (prompts, images, and files). If you share specific details (interests or preferences), our systems may share this context to provide more relevant, personalized responses in future interactions.
The following data is processed by us when using Squid Chat:
- Usage information: such as your interactions with the app, feedback you provide (e.g., thumbs up/down), and reports/flagging of content.
- Contact and Identification information: such as your name, email address, and user identifiers.
- Profile information: such as your language preferences and profile picture if has been shared.
- Technical information: such as your device type, and technical identifiers (like session IDs).
Who processes your data and how is your data stored and managed?
- We process your information to run our app, deliver services, and maintain security.
- As part of the Service we share your inputs (prompts, images and files) anonymously to the third-party AI model (either chosen by you or our by the Auto function if you chose so) for processing by leading providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Mistral to generate responses.
- To run our platform, our proprietary software is hosted on a secure production server provided by our infrastructure partner. This partner acts strictly as a data processor, operating under our direct instructions and rigid confidentiality agreements to ensure your data remains secure.
Why is your data processed/handled?

- Provide and manage access to the Service: This includes processing your prompts to generate and deliver AI responses.
- Personalise your experience: We tailor the app content based on your usage and can further personalise your experience with cookie consent.
- Maintain context: To ensure the AI understands the context of your ongoing conversation, allowing it to provide more relevant and accurate answers.
To ensure core functionality of AI responses, context (such as previous inputs in the same conversation and extracted memories) are given to providers to answer that specific prompt. - Improve our Service: We may use data to train and refine our own internal models. No external AI providers are permitted to train their models based on your interactions with our Service.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent misuse of the Service: To handle user reports, ensure safety, and maintain the integrity of the platform.
Your Control & Privacy
- Data Deletion: You can delete individual conversations or your entire account and associated data at any time directly within the app settings.
- Tracking Preferences: We respect your choices regarding tracking and cookies. You can manage your preferences via the Cookie settings within the App device settings.
- Your Rights: You have additional rights regarding your personal data (such as the right to access, rectify, or erase your data) as detailed in our Privacy Notice.
